Bridge may check for updates automatically, but installing one is always your decision — downloading and restarting into a new version each takes an explicit click. Nothing about the app changes underneath you mid-session.

Uninstalling

Remove Bridge the way you remove any app on your platform — Apps & features on Windows, dragging the app to Trash on macOS.

Your work is unaffected: Bridge operates on folders you own, so documents, code, and project files stay exactly where they always were. Only the app itself and its local settings are removed.
